Why Should You Read Another Running Blog?

by on July 18, 2012

Generally anyone that knows me, will tell you that I am rarely lost for words?  Being soemone who has done a fair amount so far in my life, I am a confident person. I have held various positions from Sales Rep, Sales Manager, General Manager, National Sales Manager, Media Manager, Managing Director, Farmer (Yes this is true) and currently where I want to be, Athlete Manager.

In my time I have done countless Television, Magazine, Newspaper and Radio interviews, as well have written hundreds of articles for websites, newsppapers, etc, but never really had to write a piece on me. A lot more difficult than I would have expected. So I am not going to do it :).

As this is the first post on my NEW BLOG:) I am not going to bore you as to who am I etc etc, but more on answering the Title Question. Of course if you want to find out more about me then by all means please vist or follow me on Twitter @craigsathletes, or catch up other articles on me or by me on

The answer to the Title: Why Should you Read Another Running Blog?

There are hundreds of Blogs, Magazines etc that all cater mainly for news, how to run, how to train etc for the average runner out there, but no one really goes into what it is like, or what Elite Athletes go through to be at the top of their game and perform the way they do. As well as who are the people behind these athletes, and what role do they play in preparations, race day, and the athletes general day to day life.

What I hope to achieve with this, is bringing the average person / reader / runner a little closer and give an insight into the professional running business.

I must say at this point that some topics will be a little hard hitting, but I do believe in saying it like it is, or the way I see it.  I am not always right in my views but then again, my views are my views, and like anything in life is open to discussion. So when reading articles or posts please dont hesitate to make comment, be it positive or negative. I welcome all views and points.

I also hope to bring some of the top athletes that I am involved with from Kenya, Zimbabwe, Zambia and South Africa closer to you, so profiles of these guys and girls will be included from time to time, and what they get up to and what they do apart from Running.

What role I play in their lives, mentor, trainer, manager, friend, foe, driver, travel agent, advisor etc, I wear many hats for the athletes. There arev some good stories to be told from funny, sad, success, hardship with current clients and former clients, such as Claude Moshiywa, Munyaradzi Jari, Amos Maiyo, Stephen Muzhingi, Collen Makaza to name a few.

I hope you enjoy the read and keep coming back.
